These three words perfectly describe the Kristen and Austin’s beautiful wedding in the heart of Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the historical Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion. As a photographer, I have the privilege of capturing countless love stories, but Kristen and Austin’s wedding is one that will stay with me forever.

A Love Story Years in the Making

Kristen and Austin’s love story began in high school, where they formed a close friendship. While Kristen harbored deeper feelings, it wasn’t until after Austin returned to Tuscaloosa from college that their friendship blossomed into something more. Their story is a testament to the idea that the best relationships often start as friendships, growing stronger and deeper over time.

The Hottest Day of the Year

Despite the wedding day being the hottest day of the year, the early 11:30am ceremony proved to be a wise decision, making the heat a little more bearable. This early start not only helped everyone stay cooler but also gave the newlyweds the chance to pack and prepare for their honeymoon later in the day — a unique and more practical perk of a morning wedding!

Classic Elegance

Kristen’s choice of a simple yet timeless gown from Evanna’s Bridal Boutique was breathtaking. The A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline, paired with a cathedral veil trimmed in pearls and crystals, was the epitome of elegance. Her bridesmaids, who also happened to be her sisters, looked stunning in champagne-colored dresses, while Austin and his groomsmen were dapper in blue suits.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the wedding was Kristen’s personal touch on the floral arrangements and bouquets. She crafted each piece herself, showcasing her talent and adding a deeply personal element to the décor. The beautiful arrangements perfectly complemented the grandeur of the historic Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion, enhancing the intimate and classic vibe of the wedding.

A Moment to Remember

Among the many memorable moments of the day, the first look between Kristen and Austin stood out as one of my favorites. Then again most first looks are my favorite! The pure joy and love on their faces made for an incredibly sweet and emotional moment. Their smiles said it all, reflecting the deep bond and happiness they shared on this special day.
